Kapitalska družba, d. d. was established with the purpose of generating additional funds for pension and disability insurance by means of asset management. With the adoption of the new pension legislation, the company was able to establish and manage mutual pension funds and pay pension annuities under the First Pension Fund and vocational pensions under compulsory pension insurance.
As early as in 1999, the company became the provider of supplementary pension insurance and the managing company of the First Pension Fund and, over the course of next two years, also the managing company of the Capital Mutual Pension Fund, which provides voluntary supplementary pension insurance, and the Compulsory Supplementary Pension Insurance Fund of the Republic of Slovenia, whose main goal is provide modern vocational insurance, tailored to the economic conditions of today.
Upon winning the public tender in 2004, Kapitalska družba, d.d. was selected as the managing company of the Closed Mutual Pension Fund for Civil Servants. During that year, the company also started paying out the first pension annuities under the First Pension Fund, consequently becoming by far the largest and most important provider of pension insurance in Slovenia and the largest provider of pension annuities.
Today, Kapitalska družba is a strong and established financial institution, which ensures long-term safe and profitable asset management. It manages four mutual pension funds and the Guarantee Fund of the First Pension Fund:
